Copper/PPS Shielding Tape

Polyphenylene sulfide film laminated copper foil

Copper/PPS shielding tape is an electrical insulating tape made from PPS film with excellent chemical and heat resistance, where PPS plastic (polyphenylene sulfide) is a high-performance thermoplastic engineering plastic known for its excellent properties, including high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance , and superior mechanical properties.

Advantages of PPS

PTFE film tapes are used as non-stick coatings due to their high heat resistance and non-stick properties, and are often suitable for frying pans or other types of cookware. Because of its non-conductive properties, PTFE film tape is also ideal as an insulating material for electrical applications.

Shielding laminates are often categorized based on the type of matrix material used. The four main categories of shielding laminates are Polymer Matrix Composites (PMC), Metal Matrix Composites (MMC), Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC) and Carbon Matrix Composites (CAMC).

Metal shielding laminates are produced by continuously bonding two thin metal sheets or natural metal films to one side of a thermoplastic core. These cores form sheets that are lighter in weight, easy to fabricate, flat and durable.

Slightly oxidized copper foil surfaces can be cleaned using an alcohol sponge. However, for long-term or extensive oxidation, a sulfuric acid solution is required to clean and remove oxidation.
